Pink Lady

Pink Ruffle Top c/o || LC Lauren Conrad Skirt (Old, Similar) || Hoop Earrings || Similar Stud Heels || Betsy Johnson Clutch (Old, Similar) ||

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  I cannot help but to think of the Pink Ladies from Grease whenever I see a pink and black color combination. This top, with its adorable ruffles, was the inspiration for this outfit and definitely has some retro vibes. The material is formfitting and looks better tucked into either pants or a skirt.

Did anyone else happen to watch The Bachelor this last Monday? I honestly have never watched the show, but started to this season. It’s quite entertaining lol. The infamous fence jumping scene finally happened on Monday and everyone went wild! I don’t blame Colton one bit after what happened with Cassie though. Ugh, that was heart breaking to watch.

Winter Meets Spring

Floral Embroidered Dress c/o || Similar Clutch (Here) And (Here)  || Similar Sequin Shoes ||

Hello and happy Monday! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! Did anyone happen to watch the Oscars last night? Ava and i watched the ceremony and loved all of the musical performances. The opener with Queen and Adam Lambert was amazing! Now that’s how you open a show! Lady Gaga’s and Bradley Coopers performance was incredibly emotional and filled to the brim with electric chemistry. A well deserved double standing ovation! My favorite speech was by Olivia Colman for best actress. My goodness, she was beyond adorable! I couldn’t stop smiling the entire time. Also, Chris Evans being a real life Captain America in helping Regina King up the stairs, swoon, proof that chivalry is not dead. What a gentleman!

This time of the year is tough to dress for. Spring everything is hitting the shelves, yet it’s still chilly out with threats of winter weather everywhere. Enter dark floral dresses. Bonus points for ones with a longer skirt! The florals and pink skirt in this one feel like spring, while the dark mesh anchors the look to the winter season. I love the romance of this dress is and how elegant I felt while wearing it. As it gets closer to spring, simply swap out the heels for some strappy sandals and you have a beautiful spring ensemble!

Good morning, friends! I’ve been a long time fan of the color pink. I use it in everything from my clothes, shoes, accessories, home decorating, stationary, kitchen appliances, and more. It’s the one color that has pretty much taken over every corner of my life. This outfit mixes a few different shades of pink with pops of leopard for a look that works for the office as well as going out for drinks afterwards. I particularly love wearing dusty rose shades in the fall and winter, including this pair of pants. The color is absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t find the color listed online, but did find these in the store.

The Art Of The Handwritten Note

Blue Lace Dress c/o || Blue Embellished Shoes || Rose Floral Pen || Pink Polka Dot Pen || Hydrangea Stationary || Lighthouse Note Cards || The Art Of The Handwritten Note || Mint Arrow Clipboard || Gold Flower Earrings || Pink & Blue Co. Bracelet c/o ||

Good morning and a very happy Friday, friends! This is a post I have been wanting to do for quite some time now and I am beyond excited to finally have it for you today. I’ve been hand writing notes for as long as I can remember. I used to write very simple ones to my mom and dad when I was younger. I would write to my mom as often as I could once I no longer lived at home. Though she couldn’t write back, she loved to receive them. My dad would read them to her. I wrote to my grandmother quite a bit, to friends and family members, and of course I wrote many love letters over the years. Even with email and texting becoming the norm, my late husband and I would still hand write letters to one another. I would thank friends for having my late husband and I over to their homes or for any gifts received. I would write to simply catch up with family members.

I do realize that I’m talking about physically writing out a note on the very medium that makes note writing seem obsolete. Today’s world consists of instant everything. I believe for that very reason that writing and receiving a hand written note are all the more special and heartfelt. It is something that takes time and a good amount of thought put into it. There is no backspace key or delete button. Writing and sending a note shows the recipient you care about them and you took time out of your busy day to pen the letter. It has more meaning than an email or a phone call, and while those are perfectly fine ways to communicate, especially if a matter is urgent, there is still a personal feeling and indeed an art to writing a note by hand.

I personally like to set my writing area up before I sit down to compose my letter. I always have a cup of coffee or tea on hand to sip while thinking of the words that will eventually reach the page. The pen and paper you choose will set the mood for what you are about to write as well. I will admit that I am a sucker for pretty office sulies, especially pens and stationary. I’m inspired to write when I have a beautiful pen and card to write upon. The paper chosen can express to the reader a message before they even begin to read your letter. The size of the paper, the thickness, is it decorated or have initials on it, and the color all send a subtle message. Even the pen you choose will influence how you write and should make you feel confident when doing so. How the pen feels in your hand and appeals to your eye will make for the perfect combination.

The most common hand written note would be the thank you card. Also, when in doubt, always send one. It’s better to over thank than to not thank at all. Other occasions are love letters, condolences, thinking of you, congratulations, invitations, and a request.

In the very most basic form your note should include the following:

1. The location from where you are writing from

2. The date

3. Salutation (Dear, Hi, Hello!)

4. Text. Three sentences minimum will fill the front of a notecard nicely.

5. Windup Phrase (thank you again, looking forward to seeing you). This is a transition to the closing.

6. Closing (Cheers, Sincerely, Yours, Best, Affectionately). The closing words give the impression of a wave, handshake, hug, or kiss.  “Best” and “Bye” are breezy and impersonal like a wave. “Sincerely” is impersonal and formal like a handshake. “Yours” and “truly yours” are personal and casual like a hug. “Affectionately” and “love” are very personal like a kiss.

7. Signature

I recently picked up The Art Of The Handwritten Note and devoured the book. It’s the perfect compliment to any writing desk and fantastic for someone who would like to start writing notes or write more frequently. It’s where I got some of the information here from. I highly recommend it!

Happy Thursday, friends!  If you’re in the path of the polar vortex, please stay safe! Wind chills are going way below zero making it harmful to be outside for extended periods of time today. On a happier note, yesterday was the grand reopening of Wilkes-Barre’s Barns & Nobles bookstore! Back in June of last year, a tornado ripped through the area causing a great amount of damage, including the B&N building. We were thrilled to be able to go back to one of our favorite stores!

Every now and then I like to switch up my style and keep things fresh. Enter these faux leather leggings. They add a little bit of edge to a classic casual look. They have a snug fit with some stretch to them, though I think they would look better on someone taller than me. For reference, I’m 5’2 and found there to be bunching in the leg area around the knee. They do look great though and fit just like a glove. They also have little pockets, a plus in my book!

Adding Some Glam To My Everyday Style

Faux Fur Leopard Coat c/o || Similar Pink Sweater Dress || Similar Sequin Clutch || Similar Leopard Heels || Pink & Blue Co Bracelet c/o ||

Good morning and welcome to an extremely chilly Wednesday! Today is the day we’re supposed to get the polar vortex, which is an excellent day to chat about this leopard coat! I’ve always been a big fan of leopard. It adds just the right amount of effortless glam to any look, especially when it’s a faux fur. I’ve paired the print with every color under the rainbow and it never fails. The faux fur coat feels incredibly soft and has a nice amount of weight to it. I love how I can throw it on with a dress or jeans and look equally chic both ways. The only thing I wish the coat did have are pockets. I’m wearing a size small.

Polka Dots And Tulle

Polka Dot Top c/o || Tulle Skirt c/o (Similar) || Red Scallop Bag || Booties || Hoop Earrings ||

Good morning, friends!  It’s no surprise that I’m a huge fan of polka dot prints. They’re not only fun and flirty, but have a vintage charm to them that I absolutely adore. This top in particular has a high neck and feels like a t-shirt, though it is a blouse. It’s has a bodysuit like construction making it perfect for tucking into skirts and jeans/pants alike. Last year I styled some polka dots with blush pinks and red. This year, I went with a high contrast look in black and white and a pop of red. A classic combo. I also styled the top with a pair of skinny jeans and red heels later in the day. Both looks are ideal for Valentine’s Day, which is right around the corner! Below are some quick snaps of the other outfit I wore.

Teddy Top

Teddy Top c/o || Skinny Jeans ||  Quilted Field Jacket || Similar Pink Embellished Gloves || Similar Pink Socks || Boots || Similar Kate Spade Bag ||

Good afternoon!  Another top I’ve worn multiple times in the past few weeks is this white teddy top with calico buttons. I love how toasty it keeps me while being incredibly versatile with some cute casual styles such as the skinny jeans and boots I have on here or a pair of white skinny jeans with some loafers or flats. I can picture some blush, rose, white, leopard, blue, or red loafers/flats to mix in some color with the look.

I hope everyone has been staying warm! It was in the 30s this past weekend, which actually felt warm compared to the teens and single digits we’ve been having. We’re supposed to have another snow storm tomorrow followed by a blast of artic air...another polar vortex.

Cozy Weekend

Fleece Top c/o || Gray Skinny Jeans || Glitter Blush Loafers ||

Hello to the weekend! I hope everyone is enjoying theirs so far. I wanted to do a quick post for this beyond cozy fleece top. I’ve been wearing it around the house all week long, especially with the artic air we’ve been having. It does have a crop fit making high waisted pants ideal. I’ve been pairing the top with everything from jeans, to joggers, and sleep pants. To add a bit of glam, I wore these glitter blush loafers that I am absolutely head over heels for! They fit true to size and are even more stunningly gorgeous in person.

Happy Friday, friends! While the weather outside has been quite frightful, that doesn’t stop me from wanting to get dressed up in my go-to fit and flare dresses, especially with floral print. I honestly do not wear too much black, but love how this particular dress mixes in beautiful pink flowers to sweeten the look. The long sleeves have a little bow cinching the slight flare at the end. The neckline has some pretty ruffles as well. The dress comes with a detachable belt. There’s so many gorgeous little details that add up to one knockout piece!

Good morning and happy Monday! I hope everyone is staying safe and warm if you were affected by the snow storm this weekend. Not only did we get snow, but no we have dangerously low temperatures too.

One way for me to continue to wear dresses in the good ol’ wintertime is with a sweater dress. They’re an essential item! This, oh so lovely dusty rose shade from Chicwish, manages to skim all of my curves in just the right way while remaining stretchy and comfy to wear.

Think Pink

Pink Turtleneck Sweater c/o || Pink Wool Skirt c/o || Bow Sling Back Heels || Circle Bag || Pink Belt || Jackie Kennedy Pearl Earrings ||

Happy Thursday, everyone! When in doubt, think pink! It’s often hard to feel inspired during the long winter months. The cold and dreariness start to sink in along with the never ending snow, which we are supposed to get a good deal of this weekend. My solution has always been to brighten up my wardrobe with fun colors and prints that make me smile. For me, that color is pink. It instantly puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart. This oversized sweater and plaid wool skirt from Chicwish do just the trick to not only keep me cozy and warm, but to add a good dose of happiness to my day. Both pieces make excellent choices for Valentine’s Day too!

Sun Kissed Cheetah

Julie Brown NYC Dress c/o || Similar Clutch || Similar Sequin Heels || Similar Turtleneck || Jackie Kennedy Pearl Earrings || Tortoise Necklace ||

Good morning and happy new year!! It’s technically already one week into the new year, but this is my first time posting here in 2019 so cheers to all that new year has to offer. Some other big news, and the reason I’ve been a bit MIA throughout December, is that Ava and I moved! We are now officially home owners and beyond excited and thankful for this blessing.

You can never go wrong with a simple jersey dress that is not only chic, but also one of the most comfortable materials to wear. To make this cold weather appropriate, I added a turtleneck sweater underneath. The black accessories balance the cheetah print out nicely. I added a bit of dazzle with the shoes and clutch having sequins because, why not?!

Belle Of The Ball Dress

Organza Dress c/o || Faux Fur Jacket c/o || Pearl Clutch || Cluster Drop Earrings || Similar Gold Shoes || Pink & Blue Co. Bracelet c/o ||

Good morning and happy Friday, friends! This gorgeous organza dress from Chicwish is an absolute dream. One truly does feel a little bit of enchantment when wearing it. As I always say, it’s all in the details and the details on this particular dress exceed expection. The ever flattering fit-and-flare style will always be my favorite and gives a little nod to the golden age of the 1950s. The dress does have horizontal black lines, but they blend in rather well and from a distance, you can barely see them. They give the dress a demential feel. The sleeves are a sheer chiffon with pretty pink beading and a chrochet tie.

Good morning and happy Monday, friends! As the weather starts to turn from chilly to downright freezing, I love to find pieces that remind me of being cuddled up in the coziest blanket. This peacoat Sherpa coat from Chicwish does just that. It has an oversized fit, perfect for layering sweaters or even another jacket under for those wind whipping days. I felt warm and toasty all weekend long while wearing this. I also thought I’d mention how the pockets are nice and roomy. It’s a small detail, but one I truly appreciated for being able to keep my hands warm and also to carry various items in them. I’m a huge fan of pockets!

Velvet Star Print Top c/o || LC Lauren Conrad Moto Jacket (Similar Here) || AG Skinny Jeans || Blush Circle Bag (Similar Here) || ASOS Glitter Heels || Freys Sunglasses c/o || Stella & Dot Engraved Ring || Jackie Kennedy Emerald Eternity Band || Similar Star Stud Earrings ||

Good morning, friends!  Talk about an elevated tee! This embroidered star print velvet tee is just that. It is very soft to the touch and looks out of this world, pun intended!, when on. Besides the shinging stars, I’m really loving the slightly high neck this tee has. I’m wearing an XS here, but I would advise to go up one size. The XS fit fine, but I would have liked a little more length and wiggle room to move around. While I wanted to soften the tee up with some blush colors, another way I would style it is with a black circle skirt. I think it would look absolutely smashing!

Ecstasy Of Gold

Gold Tweed Dress c/o || Shoedazzle Barbie Style Heels c/o || Similar White Clutch || Freyrs Sunglasses c/o || DW Rose Gold Watch c/o || Jackie Kennedy Cascade Ring || Jackie Kennedy Pearl Earrings || Stella & Dot Brier Ring || Stella & Dot Engraved Ring ||

Good morning and happy Thursday, everyone!  There’s no doubt that I get a little bit excited whenever I see gold details or embellishments. I’m a long time fan of the warm metallic and can never seem to get enough. This tweed dress looks exceptionally luxe featuring a drop waist, tie neck, gold buttons, and a gold plaid pattern throughout.  I found it to fit true to size (wearing an XS). Recently, Shoedazzle teamed up with Barbie Style to create shoes based on what the iconic fashion doll wears. There are truly some amazing styles that were curated as if Barbie were walking the streets of New York Fashion Week herself. If you haven’t seen Barbie Style on instagram yet, definitely go check that out. It’s kind of mind blowing and you’ll get lost for a few minutes seeing her as a fashion blogger! These black pumps are from the Barbie and Shoedazzle collaboration. They are literally dripping in gold with an intricate leaf pattern on the heel and ever so glam. What a showstopper! They fit true to size and have a 4.5 inch heel. There are other colors available including red, blush, white, and black. They arrived with a Barbie Style doll, which Ava was super excited about, haha. She took one look into the box and immediately grabbed the doll! I had quite a collection of Barbie’s growing up so it was fun to see Ava play with her first one. The doll even came with some of her own accessories that every fashion girl would want. Included are some makeup, makeup brushes, a clutch, and a phone. Very cool!

Retro Glam

Sweater And Skirt Set c/o || Faux Fur Leopard Coat || Karen Walker Sunglasses || Tory Burch Bag || Ivanka Trump Shoes (Old, Similar) || Vintage Hat || Jackie Kennedy Pearl Earrings || Jackie Kennedy Cascade Ring || Stella & Dot Brier Ring || Stella & Dot Engraved Ring ||

Good morning friends and happy Wednesday! Is there anything more glam than a faux fur leopard coat or a vintage hat? Scratch that, anything vintage really. This sweater and skirt set from one of my all time favorites, Chicwish, does just that giving nod to the era where everything and everyone seemed to be so well put together and polished. An era that I draw inspiration from daily. I couldn’t help but think of Mad Men too when I saw this! I’m wearing a size S/M in the sand color. I stuck with neutrals for the look and let the leopard print be that extra “pop”.

Make sure you tune in tomorrow for a special post, which of course means my little love bug will be in it! It’s probably my favorite post that I do all year long and it’s been a tradition ever since Ava was born. I can’t wait!

Weekend Dazzle

Sequin Sweater c/o || Pearl Jeans c/o || Sequin Sneakers c/o || Crossbody Bag || Jackie Kennedy Cascade Ring || DW Rose Gold Watch c/o || Stella & Dot Engraved Ring || Stella & Dot Brier Ring ||

Good morning, friends! This was a really fun look to wear and right up my alley! I love a little bit of sparkle, or a lot haha!, and can never resist an embellishment to add some flare to an outfit. My dad said I looked “festive” which made me smile and laugh. Of course, just one of these pieces alone will add some jazz to your style and definitely brighten the day. The best part is that each piece is under $30! Pearl jeans have been a big trend lately, which I love, and gives them a bit of added elegance. These actually have a raw hem to them, but I had to roll them up a bit since they were a tad long on me.

I hope everyone has a great day! We’re supposed to get some more snow today, blah. I’m so over winter at this point. Fifty more days until spring!
