Summer Date Night Look

Design History White Lace Top c/o (Similar) || AG Skinny Jeans || Similar Straw Clutch || Hoop Earrings || Mom Bracelet || Heeled Sandals ||

Good morning and happy Friday! With the weekend ahead of us, I thought it’d be fun to show a casual date night look for summer. It would be a great outfit for a girls night out on the town too! I love how easy going the ensemble is with a flowy lightweight top hat has a stunning lace back, some skinny jeans, and a little pop of color with the shoes. My go-to bag in the summer is typically a straw or wicker one with a roomy clutch being perfect to carry all of your essentials from day to night.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!! We’re supposed to have a pretty decent heat wave coming through. Also, I was able to finally go see Avengers: Inifinity War. OMG, so many people died!! I was kind of blown away thinking, did that all really just happen?! I’m a little late in getting to see it and I didn’t read anything about the movie so it was a total surprise. I’m crossing my fingers for Marvel to pull some movie magic and bring some of the characters back to life.

4th Of July In Red, White, And Blue

Can you believe the 4th of July is right around the corner?! It’ll be here in the blink of an eye. It’s one of my favorite holidays to celebrate with all of the Americana, fireworks, warm summer sun, cookouts, s’mores, laughter, and fun. Even if you aren’t celebrating the 4th, these pieces are essential summer classics.

Design History Shirt Dress c/o || Vineyard Vines Hat (Old, Similar) || Sunglasses || Earrings || Pearl Necklace || Rattan Clutch || Similar Red Sandals ||

For my patriotic look above, I went with a classic blue shirt dress with super cute bell sleeves and my ever faithful Vineyard Vines Straw Hat. I pull this hat out every single summer and consider it one of my all time favorite summer accessories. To round off the look, I stayed with the red, white, and blue theme choosing red heeled sand also (a staple!), white sunglasses, and a blue and white ratan frame clutch.

Blue Ruffle Skirt

LC Lauren Conrad Top (Old, Similar) || Blue Ruffle Skirt c/o || Bow Hat || Sunglasses || Wedges || Arc Bag || Pearl Necklace || Pearl Bracelet || Ava’s Watermelon Dress ||

Good morning and welcome to the new week! Lately, I’ve been loving a blue and yellow combo for summer. This outfit in particular, it feels so light and airy with a touch of casual elegance. It also reminds me of Cape Cod. The skirt has a beautiful ruffle dip hem with a light gingham pattern throughout. It fits true to size and the material feels wonderful on.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I went to go see the new Jurassic World movie which was an entertaining delight! Talk about a summer blockbuster. Chris Pratt is always fun to watch too. I also went to go see Solo: A Star Wars Story and that my friends is a must see for any Star Wars fan. The movie had almost a western tone to it within the Star Wars Universe and it definitely worked. I loved Donald Glover as Lando, but felt something was just missing with Alden Ehrenrheic as Han Solo, though he looked the part and still did a good job. The moment when Han and Chewy got to pilot the Millennium Falcon together for the first time, that was magically heartwarming.

Floral Flair

Floral Shorts c/o || Similar Yellow Top || Floral Heeled Sandals ||  Bow Sunhat || Earrings || Arc Bag ||

Happy Friday, friends! Ava and I visited one of our favorite parks recently and what better way to blend in with the scenery than with these floral shorts. I love the mint background with all of the beautiful flowers. The colors just pop! They’re super comfortable to wear and a fun alternative to jeans shorts. I also found them to be true to size. Ava was really getting into the groove with taking some photos too! She kept jumping in front of the camera and posing with me. She’s simply the best :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ice Cream Social

Ice Cream Dress c/o || Circle Bag || Sunglasses || Cardigan || Pink Heels || MVMT Watch c/o ||  Mom Bracelet || Pearl And Anchor Bracelet ||

This dress!! Swoon. Is there anything better than ice cream in summer? I think not, haha.  This dress embodies everything fun and sweet that ice cream has to offer. How about the vintage flair too?! I always gravitate towards items that remind me of the 1940s-1960s. Especially the 1950s. I wanted this outfit to have a dash of whimsy, a spoonful of bright color, and a healing cup of cheeriness. We had ice cream the night before at Katie’s Homemade Ice Cream (delish!!) and I instantly fell in love with the location. I knew it would make the perfect backdrop for the dress. The dress fits perfectly (wearing a size small) though I wish the skirt portion had some more flair to it.

Yellow Checkered Dress

Yellow Checkered Dress c/o || Similar Bag || Sunglasses || Pearl Necklace || Pearl Bracelet || MVMT Watch c/o || Blush Sandals c/o ||

The vintage vibes are strong with this one! I cannot resist anything that has a little vintage flair to it, this dress included. I especially love that a belt was included and the cute ruffles. This would make a great dress to transition into fall with as well. The color is more of a muted mustard yellow, which is perfect during the fall months. I actually got a lot of compliments on this dress while we were at the Mashpee Commons. It was a hit! If you’re visiting Cape Cod, definitely check it out. It’s a very charming outdoor shopping center that looks like a little town. This is also where we spotted Cape Cod Coffee for the first time. They also have a location in Hyannis. I would recommend the cranberry flavor as well as their lattee’s. I went back for seconds! The dress fits true to size. I’m wearing a small for reference.

Classic Summer Movies

Good morning everyone and happy Monday! I hope all of the dads out there enjoyed their Father’s Day weekend!

With summer in full swing, I thought it’d be fun to take a look at the top 10 movies I always watch in the good ole summertime. Most of them do take place in the summer and they’re all classics. Now, don’t get me wrong, there are many more movies that are essentially summer based like Grease,  National Lampoons Summer Vacation, American Graffiti, or The Sandlot, but I don’t watch them over and over year after year, though they should be watched! They’re all anazing classics. Below is the list of my favorite classic movies that I make point to watch each summer and sometimes throughout the whole year!

1. Rear Window

This is one of my most favorite movies of all time. It’s no surprise it’s a Hitchcock movie. I’ve always been fascinated by this movie in the dead heat of summer in New York City. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve watched this movie, especially with my mom. She was always my movie buddy. Grace Kelly is absolutely stunning and at the height of her career here. My senior prom dress was inspired by her white gown in this movie. I also love that Jimmy Stewart is a photographer and the majority of the movie takes place in one room while looking out or “people watching” his neighbors.

“A newspaper photographer with a broken leg passes time recuperating by observing his neighbors through his window. He sees what he believes to be a murder, and decides to solve the crime himself. With the help of his nurse and girlfriend, he tries to catch the murderer without being killed himself.” -google.com

2. Gidget

This was always the one movie I tried to catch on TCM each year. It would always be in the summer and I can remember all of the beautiful light shining into my parents house with the windows and door open to let the fresh summer air in. While some might think the Beach Party movies with Frankie Avalon are the essential summer flick, Gidget was the one for me. It’s such a cute film taking place on the sunny beaches of California. Sandra Dee is adorable and James Darren is pretty cute to look at too.

“Diminutive teenager Francie Lawrence (Sandra Dee) has a bunch of boy-crazy friends, but she could care less about boys. That is, until she goes to the beach one day and meets surfer Jeffrey "Moondoggie" Matthews (James Darren) and his friends, including Burt "The Big Kahuna" Vail (Cliff Robertson). Now, Francie, whom the boys call "Gidget" -- short for girl midget -- wants to learn how to surf, so she buys a used board and dives into the sunny world of Southern California surfing fever.” -google.com

3. The Burbs

I remember first seeing this movie as a kid and being instantly hooked. It’s been an all time favorite of mine since then. I watch it multiple times throughout the year. I watched it last week! It’s another “people watching” movie involving neighbors similar to the idea of Rear Window. The whole cast comes together perfectly to produce some amazing results. It’s great to see Carrie Fisher in this and the trio of Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, and Rick Ducommun are so funny to watch.

“Settling in for some time off in his suburban home, Ray Peterson's (Tom Hanks) vacation becomes a horror when the Klopeks, a suspiciously odd family, move in down the block. Enlisting the aid of his paranoid buddy, Art (Rick Ducommun), and his militia-man neighbor, Rumsfield (Bruce Dern), Ray sends his son and wife (Carrie Fisher) away on a trip while he investigates the Klopeks. When a neighbor disappears, Ray and his cohorts risk their lives to save their cul-de-sac from the clutches of evil.” -google.com

4. The Seven Year Itch

I have been a huge Marilyn fan for quite some time now with this being one of my top favorites of hers. My other two favorites are Niagra and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She has always been one of the most beautiful women in the world to me. Interestingly enough, my brother actually introduced me to her. This was always one movie I would put on to have going in the background while I would work on homework or be writing a paper. There’s something just really comforting about this movie. It’s funny and cute and Marilyn is beyond beautiful. Of course, there is the famous skirt scene, though you don’t see much.

“In the midst of a summer heat wave, New Yorker Richard Sherman (Tom Ewell) ships his wife, Helen (Evelyn Keyes), and their son off to Maine for vacation. Left alone to work back in Manhattan, Richard encounters a gorgeous blonde model (Marilyn Monroe) who has moved into the apartment upstairs, and becomes immediately infatuated. While pondering infidelity, Richard dreams of his beautiful new neighbor -- but will his fantasies about her become a reality?” -google.com

5. To Catch A Theif

Another Hitchcock movie starring Grace Kelly, only this time the leading man is Cary Grant. ~Swoon~ He is my favorite actor and magic always happens when Hitch directs either one of them. This was one of my mom’s favorite movies of all time. She loved the fireworks scene. My junior prom dress was inspired by the gold dress Grace Kelly wears to the costume party. There is much to be dazzled by between the two leading actors and the stunning French Riviera.

“Notorious cat burglar John Robie (Cary Grant) has long since retired to tend vineyards on the French Riviera. When a series of robberies is committed in his style, John must clear his name. Armed with a list of people who own the most expensive jewels currently in the area, John begins following the first owner, young Francie (Grace Kelly). When her jewels are stolen, Francie suspects John, destroying their tentative romance. John goes on the lam to catch the thief and clear his own name.” -google.com

6. The Long, Long Trailer

I actually just watched this one last night! The two stars alone make this movie quite a gem. If you’re fans of the television classic I Love Lucy, this is an absolute must see. It’s nice to see Lucy and Desi in color and to also hear Lucy’s actual singing voice. This is not a musical, but there is one scene where they kind of hum/sing a quick song while driving and it’s one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie. They look so relaxed and happy while driving through some gorgeous scenery.

“Nicholas Collini (Desi Arnaz) has to travel for his job as an engineer -- so his fiancée, Tacy (Lucille Ball), suggests that rather than buy a house after their wedding, they invest in a motor home so they can see the country together. But the aggravations of life with nosy trailer park neighbors and the dangers of piloting an enormous trailer across narrow country roads soon take their toll on the happy couple, putting their young marriage in turmoil.” -google.com

7. The Ghost And Mr. Chicken

This is an all time favorite movie with my family. We all love it! My family loves The Andy Griffith show so we’ve always been fans of Don Knotts. Who doesn’t love Barney Fife?!? I love the hometown feel of this movie and the “spookyness” of it. “And they used Bon Ami!!” This movie could be considered a good one for Fall as well with the ghost theme, but I’ve always considered it more of a summer movie. In all honesty, I watch it multiple times throughout the whole year. The idea for this movie actually came from an episode of The Andy Griffith Show called “Haunted House.” Andy also helped with writing script.

“Looking to score a break as a newspaper reporter and impress beautiful Alma Parker (Joan Staley), milquetoast typesetter Luther Heggs (Don Knotts) pitches a story about his small town's haunted house. When his editor (Dick Sargent) insists Luther spend a night alone in the spooky mansion, where a grisly murder-suicide had taken place decades earlier, the timid reporter learns that the house contains a supernatural resident who doesn't like visitors.” -google.com

8. Jaws

This is the quintessential summer blockbuster movie where you’re going to need a bigger boat. Bonus points, this was filmed in Cape Cod near Marga’s vineyard and Falmouth! One of the most iconic two music notes in movie history.

“When a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping near the New England tourist town of Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) wants to close the beaches, but mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) overrules him, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town. Ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and grizzled ship captain Quint (Robert Shaw) offer to help Brody capture the killer beast, and the trio engage in an epic battle of man vs. nature.” -google.com

9. Send Me No Flowers

There are three films where Rock Hudson and Dorris Day teamed up together including this one, which was the last of the trio. The others include “Pillow Talk” and “Lover Come Back.” This one has always been my favorite though since it shows them in their everyday married life and all the halirty that follows. Tony Randall really steals the show here and also stars with them in the other two movies.

“After eavesdropping on his doctors as they discuss another patient, George (Rock Hudson), a middle-aged hypochondriac, leaves a hospital visit believing he's terminally ill. Assuming he'll soon be dead, George enlists his friend, Arnold (Tony Randall), to help him find a new husband for his wife, Judy (Doris Day). They eventually settle on Bert (Clint Walker), a successful businessman. But George's odd behavior makes Judy suspect he's covering up an affair.” -google.com

10. Dirty Dancing

No one puts baby in a corner! Enough said. That lift scene at the end and the romance that blossoms during dancing lessons will make anyone swoon in the summer heat.

“Baby (Jennifer Grey) is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she's disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort's dance instructor, Johnny (Patrick Swayze), enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby's father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she's determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer.” -google.com

Classically Nautical

Sail To Sable Dress c/o || Ava’s Dress || Sunglasses || Wicker Bag || Jack Rogers Sandals || Vineyard Vines Hat (Old, Similar) || Jackie Kennedy Earrings || Pearl And Anchor Bracelet ||

Good morning, friends! This dress could not have been more perfect for being on the Cape.  The flutter sleeves give the dress just the right amount of flair while keeping the look classic, elegant, and fun! I love how comfortable the dress is too. This was another look that I matched with Ava, though we didn’t get too many photos together other than our macaron snap and our yearly family photo in front of the Nausset Lighthouse, which is the lighthouse on the Cape Cod chips bag! This is one of those dresses I love to keep in rotation all summer long. It’s so easy to throw on with some sandals and go.

What a gorgeous day we had! We started at one of our favorite antique stores and then headed to Cake and Islands Dessert Shoppe. They’re known for their sea glass candy, but also their macaron cookies. They were amazingly good! We ate all of them on the beach, haha. Next we stopped at the National Seashore Park office in Eashtham, which is also where the Nausset Lighthouse is. Fun fact, on August 7, 1961 President Kennedy signed a bill establishing the Cape Cod National Seashore to preserve the Great Beach and prevent large scale development from occurring at other places along the Eastern seaboard. It includes 43,607 acres and nearly 40 miles of seashore along the Atlantic coast. After visiting the park office, we went to the beach where Ava played with a sand turtle toy she got at the park store and then eventually to the lighthouse to get some photos. Ava thought someone lived inside the lighthouse and kept knocking on the door. She is adorable to watch! To end the day, we stopped in Chatham, my second favorite town on the Cape. It is beyond charming. We stopped for dinner at the Chatham Raw Bar to try out their oysters after hearing so many good reviews. Trust me, they were the best oysters I ever had! I’m kicking myself for not getting a photo of them, but I literally inhaled them as soon as they got to the table.

Happy Tuesday, friends! First, happy birthday to my brother Mike! I can’t wait to celebrate with him. This look definitely puts a smile on my face. It has my all time favorite vintage vibe going on with the forever fun polka dot print and the tailored white shorts with an adorable bow at the waist. I matched Ava with her ruffled polka dot top and white bottoms. I seriously cannot resist matching with her! Both pieces fit extremely well and are true to size. I’m wearing an XS for reference. We took these photos at a newly found restaurant for us. Persy’s became one of our go-to spots for breakfast with a huge menu, great prices, and even better food! The meal I got the most was eggs, bacon, home fries, and a common crumpet. Of course some coffee too!

Sunset Memories

Blue Crochet Dress c/o || Similar Sandals || Wicker Circle Bag || Sunglasses || MVMT Watch c/o || Pearl Knot Necklace || Mom Bracelet || Ava’s Top and Skort Set ||

Good morning everyone and welcome to Monday! One of the things we love to do while on the cape is to catch some breathtaking sunsets and trust me, they never disappoint! There are a few spots to watch the sun setting over the bay, but one of the highest rated is Skaket Beach in Orleans. This is a great family beach too. It’s never overcrowded, very clean, has warm bay water, and of course has the amazing view of the sunset. This was our first time trying out the beach and we were very impressed! This was actually one of our busiest days and it was very relaxing and memorable to end it with the beautiful golden glow. I wore this blue crochet dress for our day out and love it’s gorgeous details! I’ll tell you, Chicwish never disappoints with that. It has a full crochet finish with eyelet details, a scrolled hem, and is pleated at the waist. I’m wearing an XS for reference.

Stay tuned tomorrow for some matching with Ava! There were a few outfits I had planned out where Ava and I would match. I’m also getting our family photos from the trip ready to go as well. Looking back on them gives me the biggest smile and fills my heart with happiness. Until then, have a great Monday!

Good morning and happy Thursday!  We were very lucky to have some incredible weather on our trip that was perfect for the beach. We made sure to make the most of it too, especially after this hard winter. With beach weather comes swimsuit season! For the longest time, I really only had one or two swimsuits I would pull out every year, but when they started looking old and thread worn, I vowed that would never happen again, haha. Honestly, there are so many great bathing suits out here for very affordable princes, there’s no reason to keep recycling the old ones year after year. The one I’m wearing above is only $14 and has the cutest floral print with little ruffles. I’m wearing a size small. I’m also loving my new MVMT sunglasses and watch! The sunglasses fit my face nicely and do not slide off my nose, which happens to a great deal of sunglasses. The reflective lenses are always an awesome touch! The watch is elegant and timeless with brushed rose gold stainless steal and a peach 100% leather strap. Use the code “amandabrezovsky15” for $15 off of your MVMT order!

A Princess Moment

Pink Satin Dress c/o (Sold Out, Similar Here and Here) || Ava’s Tulle Dress c/o || Similar Pink Sandals || Jackie Kennedy Pearl Earrings || MVMT Watch c/o || Kate Spade Mom Bracelet || KJP JFK Pearl Bracelet || KJP JFK Pearl Necklace ||

Good morning, friends. First, I want to express my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Kate Spade. My heart goes out to them. I was completely shocked and saddened to learn of her passing yesterday. Her brand and vision have always been an inspiration for me bringing color, sparkle, and whimsy into the fashion world. I remember getting my first Kate Spade bag only a few years ago and what a monumental moment that was for me. She brought affordable luxury to the masses and allowed us to peak into her world of fun and vibrant colors. She did live colorfully and she did leave a little sparkle everywhere she went. Thank you Kate. You will be missed.

This was one of my most favorite photography shoots we did while on vacation in Cape Cod. I told Ava these were our princess dresses, which she loved! She kept telling me we looked like princesses for the rest of the night. She didn’t want to take her dress off. Both of our dresses are from Chicwish, a favorite of mine. I was happy to see they started carrying children’s clothing too. As soon as I spotted this tulle floral dress, I knew Ava would not only love it, but look darling in it. She’s wearing a size 3-4. She wears a 3T now. My heart swooned a bit when I saw my dress. It’s perfect for any formal event, especially with wedding season upon us. Mine is currently sold out, but I linked some similar ones also from Chicwish.

We took these photos at the JFK memorial on my 30th birthday. A great way to end a very memorable day. This is my favorite spot on all of the Cape and that’s saying a lot since every spot on the Cape is charming and dreamy. The sunsets are absolutely gorgeous going down behind the memorial and glistening on the water fountain. It’s relaxing and very peaceful to be there, especially with Veternas Beach being in front of the memorial too. It’s a great little spot to come and the spot where I initially fell in love with Hyannis. I can’t wait to share the rest of our photos from our vacation!

A Vibrant Match

Julie Brown NYC Dress c/o || Dress For Cocktails Bag c/o || Sunglasses || Slides || Similar Jean Jacket || KEP Earrings c/o || DW Watch c/o ||

Good morning and happy Tuesday, friends! I don’t know what it is, but I adore matching. I love matching my accessories to my outfit and I especially love matching my outfits to Ava’s. Those are my favorite! I was thrilled when Julie Brown NYC told me they were doing a matching collaboration with Dress For Cocktails. I could not wait to see what they had in store. The dress is so vibrant and stands out in a crowd. It also has pockets, which, let’s be honest, is one of the best features for a dress to have! I’m wearing a size 2, but I should have gone with the 0. The 2 felt a little loose. Now, the bags (tote and clutch) have a removable magnetic bow, which matches the print of the dress. There are also a few different colored bows available to mix and match. I told Ava the little matching clutch was hers to carry around and she loved it. She also really liked the removable bows. She was constantly switching them around. It’s a neat idea!
